AUTUMN SONATA
The Spanish meteorologists reported +27 degrees and blazing sun today, Thursday 19 October, one day before my birthday, which has been held on the same date over the years, and under various weather conditions, depending on where I was located on Earth.
Accordingly, our home here in Spain was prepared early today in accordance with this, that is, at 10 o'clock the blinds were lowered and all windows closed with the intention of preserving the comfortable 21 degrees throughout the day and then opening up when the cool evening breeze again swept over country and people.
Madam had her yoga class at 12 o'clock so it was a somewhat shortened working day which always starts at 07 in the morning, and after yoga, she was going to visit the saddle maker's workshop with the car to order re-drawing of the roof that had come loose, i.e. the drawing in the roof.
As the solidarity person that I am, I also ended my working day at 12 and prepared myself and my little el. Scooter for a lunchtime trip down the "paseo", i.e. the seafront.
I went via the most populated part of the paseo, where the most expensive cafes and restaurants are located together with all the illegal immigrants from Africa who sell their illegally copied designer clothes and shoes to the tourists who then eat pizza at the cheapest of the expensive beach restaurants.
If you continue a little further, you come to the more secluded part of the paseo, chemically free of illegal immigrants with illegal clothes, flute players, magicians, and yes, really just quiet and peaceful accompanied by the lapping of the Mediterranean waves.
This part is mainly frequented by the permanent residents part of the foreigners as well as visiting Spaniards from central and northern Spain who also have their holiday homes down here by the beaches of the Mediterranean. (photo)
The cloud layer from this morning was not really threatening, rather flirtatious, and occasionally threw a little sun or a few raindrops teasingly at the people down there on the paseo. Our Lord and the waiter at the restaurant with all the exciting small dishes had placed me under a palm tree, and protected by the palm leaves I could point my nose at the teasing raindrops. (photo)
As usual, the meal, - chicken in curry and a glass of chilled beer, ended with a coffee "cortado" a "cut off" coffee, steamed together with milk or cream and served in a small glass with a small bag of sugar.
Then it was time to say goodbye to the permanent residents, winter-visiting Spaniards and foreigners like me from northern Europa, and the pigeons who had faithfully held out to charm themselves into a few breadcrumbs (photo)
The breeze had changed its character a bit, to a more lamely autumn sonata that accompanied me home to a comfortable duvet and a well-deserved siesta.
